Birch Creek Memories

Holy Trinity Church - built in 1885 and torn down in 1960 after 75 years. Obviously our ancestors were instrumental in building it.
Birch School District #4 - The original log schoolhouse was built in 1869. Two years later in 1871 it was burned in
the firestorm of the Peshtigo fire. In 1872 it was replaced by a frame building, which was used until 1909 when it was replaced by the current brick structure. The blacksmith shop in the rear dates back to the original schoolhouse, which would put it at over 140 years old.
